Costanera Avenue with its famous fishmarket and Schuster Wharf is one of the most popular postcard images of our city.

Sea lions, pelicans, ducks and black necked swans are abundantly seen.

The Austral University's Botanical Garden has the typical Arboretum of the South and makes for an entertaining walk along the Cau Cau River.

The Republic Square, the Cathederal and Museum (open all year), and General Lagos Avenue, where you can see much of the "old Valdivia", makes for an interesting walking tour.
